 Iris’s Tip

Serve the Burritos with the spicy Avocado Dipping sauce.  The spicy Avocado Dipping sauce is amazing as a dip or salad dressing. Make the burritos smaller and serve as an hors d'oeuvre party.

 Ingredients

Ingredients for the Burritos:

Flour tortilla or any other gluten-free wrap

1 lb. ground steak/beef

4 crushed garlic cloves

1 chopped onion

1 cubed avocado

1 cubed tomato

1/2 chopped red onion

1/4 cup of cilantro chopped

2 tablespoons of oil

Season with salt, black pepper, white pepper and 1/2 a packet of taco seasoning mix.

Ingredients for the Spicy Avocado Dipping sauce:

1 avocado peeled and cubed

1/4 cup of mayonnaise

1/4 cup of water

Juice of 1 lime

1/4 cup of chopped cilantro

Start with 1/2 a teaspoon of sriracha and add as much as you can handle

Season with a little salt and pepper

 Directions

Instructions for the Burritos:

  1. In a large skillet sauté the onions with the oil; when the onions turn a golden brown, add the garlic and sauté a little more.

  2. Add the ground steak/beef and all of the seasonings; continue to mix until the meat is cooked.

  3. Remove from heat; allow to cool.

  4. Add cubed avocados, cubed tomatoes, chopped red onion and chopped cilantro, and mix.

  5. Take two full spoons of the beef filling and put on the edge of the tortilla closest to you. Fold the right side and then the left side and roll, just like egg rolls.

  6. Heat up a nonstick skillet with 2 tablespoons of oil and fry the burritos lightly until golden brown on either side.  OR first, dip the burrito in egg and then in bread crumbs and deep fry until golden brown OR place the burritos on a baking sheet spray, with oil and bake in a 350 Fahrenheit or 180 Celcius preheated oven for 10 minutes.

Instructions for the Spicy Avocado Dipping sauce:

Place all of the sauce ingredients in a food processor and mix. Check if you need to adjust the taste, and add more sriracha if you wish.
