Iris’s Tip
Ingredients
4 tablespoons of oil
6 chicken leg quarters
2 medium onions, cut in half and sliced
6 sliced garlic cloves
1 cup of dried prunes
1 cup of raisins
1-2 cups of water
Season to taste with salt, white pepper, black pepper, 1 tablespoon of chicken soup seasoning mix, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Directions
1. Sauté the chicken in a large deep skillet with the oil until the chicken skin gets a golden brown color.
2. Transfer the chicken into a dish.
3. Add the sliced onions into the skillet and sauté until golden brown.
4. Add the prunes, raisins, and sliced garlic, and sauté for two more minutes.
5. Add the chicken, water, and seasonings: salt, white pepper, black pepper, chicken soup seasoning mix, turmeric and cinnamon.
6. Close the lid, lower the heat to medium-low and cook for an hour and a half.
***You may choose to bake it instead. All you have to do is before adding the water and seasoning, transfer to a baking dish, add water and seasoning cover with foil and bake.
