Delicious and very easy to make. You can make different flavor rolls such as garlic rolls, zaatar rolls, onion rolls, rosemary rolls, olive rolls, cheese rolls, and more...
Iris’s Tip
Ingredients
Ingredients for 6 rolls:
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1/3 cup of oil
1 cup of cake meal (or gluten-free flour )
2 tablespoons of potato starch
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup of soda water (or 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and a cup of water)
Directions
In a bowl, mix together the cake meal, potato starch and baking powder.
In a small saucepan, boil the soda water with the oil, sugar and salt. When they come to a boil, add the flour and baking powder, and quickly mix with a wooden spoon. Turn off the heat; continue to stir for 2 more minutes until the dough is dry.
Transfer to mixer bowl with a flat beater, (if you prefer to make it by hand, transfer it to a bowl) and mix for about 2 minutes
Replace the flat beater with the wire beater; add the eggs one at a time until combined.
If you want to add a flavor to the rolls do it now! For garlic rolls - add garlic flakes; for onion rolls - add onion flakes; for olive rolls - add sliced olives; cheese rolls - add 1/2 cup of firm cheese such as mozzarella, parmesan, feta, etc.
Soak your hands in water; shape round or long rolls. Brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with sesame/poppy seeds/sunflower seeds etc...
Place on a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-40 minutes in a preheated oven at 350 degrees or 180 degrees Celsius.
