Ingredients
Ingredients for 11 pitas:
3 1/2 cups of bread flour
1 1/4 cups of lukewarm water
1 tablespoon of dry yeast
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 teaspoons of salt
4 tablespoons of olive oil
Directions
In the mixer bowl, put the sugar, yeast, and water; mix.
Add the flour, salt, and oil.
Begin mixing the dough as follows:
5 minutes on slow speed, 5 minutes on medium speed, and the last 5 minutes at high speed.
Take the dough out and place it in a lightly greased a bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap, and allow to rise for one-hour minimum, and up to two hours.
Take the dough out of the bowl onto your work surface. Divide it into 11 pieces, equal in size and shape into balls.
Place the balls in a pan lined with parchment paper, and cover with a damp kitchen towel for half an hour.
Dust your work surface and rolling pin with flour. Place the ball of dough onto the flour and shape each ball into a pita-sized circle. Cover with a damp kitchen towel and allow to rise for half an hour.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 240 degrees Celcuis or 460 degrees Farhenheit, and place a baking pan to heat up in the oven.
Half an hour later, open the oven door and slide (watch the video) the parchment paper with the pitas onto the pan in the oven. Bake for 4-5 minutes and that's it! Where's the hummus?
